Our Company

Our Legacy

In 1983, Stefano Bemer set out with a singular ambition: to create the perfect Italian shoe. Guided by insatiable curiosity, he taught himself the art of shoemaking, beginning by repairing shoes, then studying through courses and workshops, and ultimately mastering his own technique, now recognized and revered around the world.

Through Stefano’s unwavering dedication, his name became synonymous with the pinnacle of Italian elegance, craftsmanship, and refinement. Though many would say his vision was fulfilled, for us, his pursuit of perfection continues.

Perfection is not a destination, it is a journey.
Perhaps nothing embodies this philosophy better than the ten months Stefano spent teaching Daniel Day-Lewis — the actor famed for his devotion to his craft — the art of shoemaking. Their shared pursuit of excellence and authenticity created a bond between the two art creators.

Stefano Bemer is not merely a company. It is an ongoing adventure where passion, quality, tradition, and style converge into a singular identity.

Our Style

In 2013, Stefano Bemer entered a new chapter — honoring Mr. Bemer’s legacy while expanding his vision on a broader stage. Today, the brand encompasses an exclusive shoemaking academy, exceptional bespoke creations, an unparalleled made-to-order line, and a perfectly crafted ready-to-wear collection. Each expression upholds the same uncompromising standard of quality and artistry.

Every pair of Stefano Bemer shoes is made using the finest materials and the most refined techniques — crafted within our atelier housed in a historic chapel in Florence’s Oltrarno district. The space itself, rich with history and beauty, mirrors the unique character of our craft.

We continue to train the next generation of artisans with the same devotion that defined our founder, instilling in them commitment to excellence. Every stitch, every form, every detail is a step toward perfection.

This is the spirit of Stefano Bemer.
